Precis article: Brazil's President Will Attend Copenhagen Climate Conference
This article is not from the Brazilian government (there is no official site on the governments opinion in Copenhagen). However, this article gives quite a good picture of Brazils position for the summit. The Brazilian President Luiz Lula da Silva will attend the Copenhagen summit, with prepared and an enthusiastic ideas on the topic. Although he stresses that Brazil is still a developing country, it has plans with France to limit carbon reduction and deforestation in his country. Brazil stresses that developed countries should see Brazil as a role model, also acting, and not being ignorant to the issue. Directly addressing the USA, he believes that America should realize its importance on the matters, and that participation from every country will lead to a possible success at Copenhagen. According to da Silva, "If Brazil did its part, they will have to do theirs too. If it's not today, it will be tomorrow, or next year. But they will have no way to avoid it: everyone will have to show figures."
