Précis: PDF COP 15
This is a PDF document released by the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The document addresses the issue of climate change and outlines the measures Japan will undertake in order to reduce its carbon emissions. Japan produced this document as a response to the cascade of verbal attacks from the other nations which urge the country to further lower its carbon emissions. Japan, however, is firmly convinced that it is on a good way to reach its targets and views the criticism as unjustified. The document gives examples showing Japan’s great effort and commitment to combat climate change. Japan’s focus lies on alternative energies and the country proudly states that it has the highest level of energy-saving technology. In Japan’s eyes, it is up to the other nations to adapt to their technology. Therefore, the PDF document serves Japan as to give evidence for their actions against climate change and refute the criticism from the other nations.
